Server connection errors

The following are the most common error messages that the UserLock administration console may display when meeting a server connection issue:

  • Cannot connect - Error code: 0x0035. The server is not available. Check that the server is powered on and doesn't have any issues (network, for example).
  • Cannot connect - Error code: 0x0002. The UserLock service is not started on the UserLock server. You just need to start it.
  • Cannot connect - Error code: 0x0079. The UserLock service is currently busy or has stopped. You can try to restart it through the Windows Services console. If the service stops unexpectedly, check in the Windows event log to determine the reason. Try to start it again. Don't hesitate to contact us if you get this error several times.
  • Access is denied. You are not listed as a UserLock administrator in the server security  permissions. You are therefore not allowed to administer UserLock.

If the agent is unable to contact the server, user sessions will be missing on the UserLock server. If you think you are in this situation, you can enable the error message for clients. Users will be able to see it and you will be able to understand the problem. We suggest you use this option carefully as it displays all agent errors to users.
