Notifications

'Protected accounts' offer alert notifications to UserLock operators when a connection event is detected for their members. The 'Notifications' section allows you to enable these alerts and to define session events triggering them.

Popup

  • Send a popup when selected events are detected: 'Not configured' by default.
To configure a popup notification, set the drop-down list option to 'Enabled'. Additional required fields will appear on the line below.
  • Recipient(s): Network popup notifications target machines. Enter here machine names you want to display connection alerts on. Several machine names can be defined separated by a semicolon ';'.
  • Connection event(s): This option displays the number of selected events triggering this notification. Click on the drop-down list to show connection events and select those you want by checking their corresponding box.

The popup message can be customized through the 'Message' view.

E-mail

  • Send an E-mail when selected events are detected: 'Not configured' by default.
To configure an E-mail notification, set the drop-down list option to 'Enabled'. Additional required fields will appear on the line below.
  • Recipient(s): Enter the E-mail addresses you want to alert about connection events performed by members of this 'Protected account'. Several E-mail addresses can be defined separated by a semicolon ';'.
  • Connection event(s): This option displays the number of selected events triggering this notification. Click on the drop-down list to show connection events and select those you want by checking their corresponding box.

This E-mail message can be customized through the 'Message' view.

Please note:

  • The 'E-mail settings for event notifications' section from the UserLock server 'Properties' needs to be correctly defined in order for E-mail notification alerts to be sent.
  • A user can be a member of several permanent and/or temporary protected accounts (user, group or organizational unit). UserLock determines which rules to apply based on certain priorities. These priorities are described in the section named 'Priority management'.
