Charter of social, societal and
environmental responsibility (CSR)*

(*) no politically correct jargon guaranteed

This charter aims to simply and concretely present IS Decisions’ commitments and the actions we’ve taken to develop our CSR policies, without grandiose rigmarole, or politically correct jargon.

Like all projects at IS Decisions, we manage the CSR in an agile manner ("collaborate, deliver, reflect, improve") and in alignment with our ethos of continuous evolution and improvement.

Table of contents

In its most commonly accepted definition, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), is a way to integrate social, societal and environmental values into a company’s daily business and relationships with all stakeholders.

Since its creation in 2000, IS Decisions has been doing CSR as Shakespeare did prose: naturally, spontaneously, simply and above all, concretely.

Here, we consider CSR as the “common decency” dear to George Orwell. That is to say, the “normal” way of being and doing for those who claim to be human.

That said, rest assured that you’ll find in the following pages neither long, hollow rhetoric nor lyrical flights of politically-correct fancy – this is definitely not our style.

Our charter reflects our values. So it is sober, lucid, pragmatic, transparent, and, above all, designed for continual adaptation and collective improvement.

I hope you enjoy reading it.

Preface

As a group of humans who hold the heart as dear as the brain, IS Decisions fully adheres to the provisions laid down by:

  • The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
  • The European Convention on Human Rights
  • The Strategic Objectives of the International Labour Organization
  • The OECD guidelines for multinational companies

And is a signatory of:

Our values

Since the creation of IS Decisions in 2000, five fundamental values have progressively emerged and become key principles guiding our decisions, shaping our organization, our rules of conduct, and our daily operations.

They are part of our DNA and are the foundation of our corporate culture.

Continuous improvement

It is always possible to do better, both individually and collectively.

This is why we’ve embraced an agile way of thinking and working ("collaborate, deliver, reflect, improve") across all departments and corporate initiatives

Continual communication

We inform, dialogue, exchange with and ensure that all stakeholders have the information they need to understand and carry out their missions.

We value continual, open communication, both internally as well as with all our partners, thoughtfully choosing the tools best-suited to each given context.

Joy at work

We human beings spend about 50% of our waking life at work. At IS Decisions, we refuse to live half of our life without enjoying it.

In everything we do, we value friendliness and humor, as well as the idea that we can be serious without taking ourselves seriously.

And we pride ourselves on doing good with our work by protecting our clients’ information systems around the world.

Full responsibility

When faced with any problem, the first question we ask ourselves is, "What can I do to be part of the solution?".

We acknowledge and take responsibility for our mistakes with humility, leaving our ego aside, and we systematically learn from each of them.

Collaborative work

"Alone we go faster, together we go further," is one of our mantras.

We are convinced that collective intelligence, the calm confrontation of different points of view, consultation, team spirit, and the complementarity of skills and experience are irreplaceable assets for our efficiency as a company.

And we apply this philosophy to our entire ecosystem: clients, partners, and suppliers.

Economic Responsibility

Relationships with our clients and partners

IS Decisions is committed to:

  • Ensure the satisfaction of our customers and partners by proactively listening to their feedback and suggestions as part of a process of continual improvement.

In concrete terms, we:

  • Use a systematic process to gather feedback from our prospects, customers and partners about our software. This feedback is collected, categorized and quantified using a dedicated digital platform, and serves as a basis for determining our product development priorities.
  • Regularly ask our customers and partners to challenge our ideas, test mock-ups and/or pre-release versions of our software in order to involve them as early as possible in a co-construction process.

Governance

IS Decisions is committed to:

  • Respect the rules of good governance, transparency and integrity.

In concrete terms, we:

  • Communicate continuously with the members of our Board of Directors via a digital discussion group, and send them a monthly update on our activities.
  • Hold weekly meetings of the Executive Committee, bringing together all of the company’s departments to discuss an agenda co-constructed by all participants.
  • Send a team-wide newsletter every Monday to keep employees informed of the company’s latest news.
  • Gather the entire IS Decisions team every eight weeks to keep all employees informed about our latest achievements and projects, and to gather and incorporate their feedback and suggestions.
  • Communicate our financial performance figures (monthly invoicing, intermediate accounting situations, balance sheets and profit and loss accounts) transparently to all employees.

Social and societal responsibility

Non-discrimination and diversity

IS Decisions is committed to:

  • Apply the principle of non-discrimination in all forms in all management and decision-making actions, in particular in all stages of HR processes (hiring, remuneration, professional development, etc.).
  • Respect and promote strict equality between men and women.
  • Facilitate the entry of young graduates into professional life through work-study programs and company internships.
  • Promote the employment, retention and training of older employees.
  • Carefully support the careers of employees with disabilities.

In concrete terms, we:

  • Employ a diverse, international team: over 22% come from outside of France, ages vary from 22 to 61 years old, and women make up 40% of the team, at all levels of responsibility.
  • Have proudly signed the French Diversity Charter.
  • Base our recruitment and career development decisions exclusively on personality and competence, to the exclusion of all other considerations.
  • Welcome several interns and work-study students regularly.
  • Respect all accessibility standards and requirements to accommodate disabled people and people with reduced mobility (reserved parking, elevator, adapted sanitary facilities, etc.).

Salary and social policy

IS Decisions is committed to:

  • Apply a clear and motivating compensation and benefits policy.
  • Measure the outlook and satisfaction of all employees continuously.
  • Provide employees with a healthy, safe and comfortable working environment.

In concrete terms, we:

  • Reward all employees with a profit-sharing bonus each time we meet or exceed our monthly sales target.
  • Offer meal vouchers, annual gift and vacation vouchers, as well as an employee savings plan to all employees.
  • Seek weekly team feedback by inviting all employees to complete a short, digital questionnaire each Friday: what went well, what difficulties they encountered, where they may need help, and areas for improvement at the individual, team or organizational level.
  • Organize annual career conversations in April to formalize discussions about each employee’s professional development, and hold annual performance reviews in November.
  • Allow remote work up to three days a week for nearly all employees, unless their role requires their presence on-site.
  • Provide a bright, comfortable office space in our bioclimatic building, adjacent to a protected forest, with private parking, a terrace of more than 100 m², CO² detectors, a shower and a fully-equipped relaxation area.
  • Supply all of our employees with ergonomic chairs and sit-stand desks.

Environmental responsibility

IS Decisions is committed to:

  • Favor public transport, bicycles, or energy-efficient transport as much as possible.
  • Control water and energy consumption.
  • Aim for a "zero paper" office.
  • Reduce the environmental footprint of our digital equipment as much as possible.

In concrete terms, we:

  • Provide our employees with a covered bicycle parking area equipped with secure parking racks.
  • Built a bioclimatic building with natural ventilation using local contractors and sustainable materials to accommodate all of our employees.
  • Recycle all of our waste with a company that employs people with disabilities.
  • Reduce employee commutes with our remote work policy, which allows almost all employees to work remotely up to three days a week.
  • Use only low-energy lighting and water-saving taps.
  • Store all of our documents digitally, except as required by law.
  • Participate annually in Cyber World CleanUp Day (data cleaning and digital equipment recycling).
