Agent-less, Remote
and Non-Intrusive Software

With a simple, agent-less deployment IT Managers can quickly install FileAudit and instantly secure access to all File Servers in their Windows environment without intrusion or the need for deployment on individual servers. Users can be up and running with FileAudit, monitoring, archiving and reporting on file access in less than three minutes.

This new agentless technology is based on a Windows Service installed on the FileAudit host. There is no mandatory requirement to install FileAudit on the system that is to be audited. Any machine meeting the requirements can be used as a remote host for FileAudit. The server that is then remotely audited requires no further installation.

FileAudit makes the often dreary task of data auditing easy yet effective. The solution is a more polished, user-friendly way to keep tabs on auditing over simply using Windows’ Event Viewer.

As stated in PCMag’s four-star, Editor’s Choice Review

File Auditing that’s
Modern & Intuitive

FileAudit was designed for maximum efficiency and ease of use. The modern and intuitive interface makes it easy to select files and folders to monitor and audit, with the ability to customize alert settings and schedule reports.

Microsoft-Certified for compliance and compatible with Windows Server 2019 and Windows 10, FileAudit significantly reduces the workload of monitoring access to sensitive data.

Improved File Auditing
Performance and Scalability

Keeping only relevant
access events

FileAudit optimizes the NTFS audit on folder and files and presents it in a useable format to find answers you need from audited access events. By reducing the amount of generated events by 80%, FileAudit keeps only the events that are relevant (approx. 30%) for inclusion in its centralized database. During this process no useful information is lost, only meaningless events are discarded.

Avoiding unnecessary storage
requirements on the Server

Unlike native Auditing which consumes significant resources on the file servers, real time monitoring means FileAudit collects information without impacting space, avoiding any performance problems. Once a path is set to audit, all access events are detected, displayed and saved into a database in real time. You also retain control over your data, with the ability to copy or transfer your data to a new production database or from one database provider to another. You can also archive data after a transfer is completed.

Excluding additional access events

FileAudit also allows you to exclude certain events from the audit
such as specific .exe files or certain users.

By filtering out program access events (such as backup tool, anti-virus or search engine) or files maching specific name masks (e.g. temporary files with *.tmp pattern) FileAudit stops your data from becoming polluted and keeps the audit trail more meaningful.

Delegate File Auditing
to ensure a more effective audit

Because FileAudit is so easy and intuitive, even non-IT executives and external auditors can use FileAudit securely and autonomously without breaching security protocols. Monitoring can now be delegated to managers, who hold a better understanding of files and data across their business line.

Manage User Specific Rights

Create specific accounts for people without administrative rights. Define which FileAudit features you want to make available to them.

Remote Auditing

Allowing a remote connection to the FileAudit auditing service avoids having to give direct access to the system where FileAudit is installed.

A custom installation of FileAudit can be performed on the machines of non-IT executives by only selecting the console component. Once done they can then connect remotely to the auditing service by just pressing the ‘connect’ button.
