# Keyboard shortcuts

Function keys for diagnostics, logs, and version checks

## Action shortcuts

| Key | Action |
| --- | --- |
| **F6** | Check for a new FileAudit version |
| **F7** | Open [advanced settings](/fileaudit/docs/reference/settings#advanced-settings), which are reserved for IS Decisions support. |

## Log and configuration folders

These shortcuts open the FileAudit data folders and log files. They are useful when you collect logs for support or troubleshoot a service issue.

| Key | Opens | Path |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **F8** | Common Application Data folder | `%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\ISDecisions\FileAudit` |
| **F9** | User Application Data folder | `%APPDATA%\ISDecisions\FileAudit` |
| **F10** | Service log file | `%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\ISDecisions\FileAudit\ServiceLog.txt` |
| **F11** | Console log file | `%APPDATA%\ISDecisions\FileAudit\Log.txt` |

## Generate a diagnostic report

Press F12 to run the diagnostic tool. FileAudit generates a report at:

`%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\ISDecisions\FileAudit\Diagnostic.txt`

> When IS Decisions support asks for diagnostic data, press F12 and attach the generated file.
