WinReporter® Features

ZERO Deployment

Based on an “agentless” technology, WinReporter installs in a couple of minutes and doesn’t require any deployment.

Ease of use

Selection of the target computers and the information to be captured is the matter of a few clicks using the scan assistant. Each component is explained by a tool-tip as the curser moves over its field.

Target computer selection

WinReporter can scan an entire domain or organizational unit. Computer selection can also be made by IP range(s) and/or manually. WinReporter can scan approved domains, unapproved domains as well as groups.

Performances and work loads

Entirely multithread, WinReporter adapts easily to the amount of computers or components to analyze by allowing the administrator to regulate the number of threads scanning the network.

Network snapshots

WinReporter enables network evolution tracking and analysis by taking “network snapshots”. The snapshot manager can merge snapshots, transfer them from one database to another and delete computers within a snapshot, and renders possible multi scans for very big networks and unavailable computer management.

Advanced Reporting

  • Most reports can be sorted per the displayed fields.
  • Computers can be grouped per Active Directory container (instead of per domain). In this case, the Active Directory’s tree is displayed in the report options tab.
  • Reports can be automatically generated after a scheduled scan, to update an intranet for example.

Use with RemoteExec

The list of computers generated in any report can be exported as a target computer list for RemoteExec (.rec format).

RemoteExec, an IS Decisions software, is a universal program/service pack/hotfix/patch/system action… deployer. The combination of these solutions provides a very powerful evolution management suite.

Compatibility

WinReporter is ODBC compatible, a simplified assistant is provided to select Access, SQL Server and Oracle.
